first ever cup final win for the U13C team   03/11/2017

Congratulations to the U13 C team on their first-ever Cup final win against a very strong Round Towers last Friday night.

The final was played in front of an excellent turnout of home supporters and travelling supporters under the lights in Kilbogget.

The Fox Cab Girls competed from the throw-in displaying impressive teamwork with some tremendous blocks, fierce tackling and vision from defence while the midfield and forwards concentrated on working together, retaining possession and a very high rate of finishing, resulting in some very good scores.

The FoxCab girls in the first half never allowed their opponents to settle and put unrelenting pressure on them whenever they had the ball. Their constant hard work at training on a Tuesday night was evident throughout the game and they finished the half well ahead.

Round Towers started the second half very strongly and the FoxCab girls had to dig deep and with a great show of skill, effort and tenacity for the frozen parents huddled on the sidelines the girls put in their usual full-hearted display to take control of the game to finish out strong winners at the final whistle.

This success, which follows 4 long years of playing football under the Go Games rules, is a testament to the team’s talent, power and skills as well as their outstanding determination and dedication to themselves and the team as a group. They have has taken tremendous strides forward in terms of fitness levels, team play and skill levels. The behaviour of girls and their attitude towards training and matches is exemplary. From their attention to team talks to their pre-match warm-up, this team are almost like a professional outfit. They continue to go from strength to strength and the future looks very bright for them.

Thanks to the manager, mentors, players and parents for their tremendous commitment throughout the season and congratulations to all!

As they say “Cup in back of bus”
